Firefox sometimes prevents an action that is required while I am completing a form such as renewing my vehicle registration online.
When completing certain forms online with Firefox, a required action such as loading the next form in the process may be blocked by Firefox, presumably for security reasons. This block can be removed by clicking in a small window above the Firefox screen where notice of the blocking event is also displayed. The problem is this notification is subdued and easily missed, especially when the form itself includes pauses for assimilation of information, or calculations, etc. Only when the delay seems interminable does one remember the last time this happened and where to look for the blocking notification. Is it possible to add a sound to the notification? Or would it be permissible to safely inactivate the blocking? If so, how would I do that? Thanks for your help, and for the use of Firefox.

Hi BigDoc, the bar that appears between the regular toolbar area and the top of the page can refer to several different approvals, including popup windows, redirects, and plugins.
The most common problem seems to be that an accessibility feature got turned on accidentally. To turn off the redirect block, you can use the Advanced panel of the Options page:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the General mini-tab, in the Accessibility section, uncheck the box for "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page"
Does that fix it?
If not, could you check the wording of the message next time and see what it's asking approval for?

Thanks jscher2000. Your suggestion to uncheck the "warning box" fixed the problem immediately. BigDoc
