Firefox as of late has just stopped working, how do I fix this?

It just hangs, stops working. Has happened various times, and in different programs/ No rhyme or reason for it to stop. Have to exit all the way out and restart and sometimes it works, and others it stops again almost right away. Virus check has been run, Firefox restored to default, no new programs that would cause the crash

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?


Is there any flash on those web pages?

I think you misunderstand. It does not hang all the time, and does not hang on start up. I will be on a web page, will say email for ease of explaining, I'll be reading along and Firefox just stops. Can't do anything but click on the red X at the top and tell it to close the program. Go and restart Firefox and all may be good or it could hang again with in a minute or 2
