I want to insert a signature that I have hosted on a web server without having to create and save the html file locally on my computer, is that possible? I know that I can insert an image from a web server as part of my signature, that is not what I am asking. Is there an add-on or any other feature that can help me insert my signature from a web server directly, without having to host the file locally?

You do not have to store the signature on your computer, but Thunderbird will not link to a text or HTML signature file on a remote server.

Thunderbird expects you to provide a basic signature to provide the URL to the 'IMAGE' stored on the remote server and this link has to be included in Thunderbird, otherwise how will it be referenced in the message?

You can always include a link to the remotely stored text or HTML signature within your message, but will the recipient activate it? Again this link would be stored within the message

If your entire signature is an image, you can store it on a web server. But security conscious recipients may not allow remote content in messages sent to them, and will not 'see' it.

Thank you Glid for your response, however, my question to you is - Can I inset a signature hosted on a web server alone, without having to create the html signature file in Thunderbird and storing it locally on my computer?

I tried inserting the URL to my signature in the "Choose..." section where you locate the local html file, as I understood you suggested with your response and it did not work.
