How do I again save search history after asking that it not be saved?

more options

I decided I didn't want my search history saved but now I have changed my mind. I don't remember where I made the change.

Firefox stores search history and form autocomplete history together, and there is a combined on/off checkbox on the Privacy panel of the Options page. So let's start here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

In the left column, click Privacy. Then on the right side, select "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history" to reveal the individual settings checkboxes.

(1) You'll need a checkmark for "Remember search and form history"

(2) If Clear history when Firefox closes is turned off, you're done. If it's turned on, click the Setting button and make sure that "Form & Search History" is NOT checked (otherwise, searches will be cleared at shutdown)

Does that do the job?
