Firefox browser hijacked by Speedbit Search
I recently refreshed Firefox browser & found it had been taken over by Speedbit Search. When I have been using Google and then pressed the Home button to return to the Firefox homepage this was when I found Speedbit Search homepage. So I have been unable to access my Firefox bookmarks, passwords, history. I refreshed again and got back the Firefox homepage without the bookmarks and saved passwords, but I think Speedbit is still on the computer. Thank you, nick8000

Dear jscher2000,
Could a external hard disc with the capacity be used to restore bookmarks ?.

I don't think disk space is the problem, but you would have a better sense than I do. If Firefox is expanding the jsonlz file before restoring it, most likely it would be using the TEMP folder on your main drive.
The temp folder on the C: drive is empty.

Dear jscher2000,
The temp folder on the C: drive is empty. I originally imported the book---- marks from Chrome in March 2016 & though it took 2 hours they all came across. Now I am trying to restore them I get nothing. Is it possible to op--- en the file bookmarks2016.08.29_19992 to see what is there or is that imp- ossible. If Firefox is ostensibly expanding the jsonlz files to json files in the restoration process would I not need more disk space for restoring the bookmarks.
Regards. nick8000
The answer to my question is now concluded and I am happy, so thank you all for your assistance: jscher2000, the-edmeister, FredMcD.
All my Regards. nick8000

Export bookmarks from bookmarkbackups in Old Firefox Data into HTML file. Then import the bookmarks from the HTML file.
