I have 3 email address that I use in thunderbird and one of them I can't use my password anymore and when I go to att.net it works fine. I try to add this email address as new and it configures it but it will not accept the password as being invalid. Which I know is not. What has happened and if I can't get this back up I have lost all my emails that I have saved on my computer.
is this an ATT yahoo email address?
I haven't got a reply from this forum in over a month. I have given up on Mozilla. It was great while it lasted especially the search. But this is no way to help people who are not quite literate in computers. You need a chat or a real person or pay support.

What do you want us to do about it. You have an issue on your machine, I asked you to supply information and it has not been forthcoming.

So if you want help and demand a certain level of service, there is always a paid technician, just as you take your car to a motor mechanic or your Jewelry to a Jeweler. It is not as if we actually have any paid staff to support a product for which you paid noting.
Otherwise stop complaining and supply the information you were requested to, then there may be a chance the topic can move forward.
At far as I was concerned this topic was progressing. that the person I was communicating with had changed meant nothing to me.
The causes of not getting mail are common and to be honest I tire of repeating the same only litany of reasons over and over.
Turn off your anti virus is the most obvious. Norton in particular simply block new versions of Thunderbird unless you are technical enough to change it's settings. Turn off email scanning is another.
You might find information about your particular anti virus here https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Antivirus_Related_Performance_Issues
Otherwise, to diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:
- Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
- Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
- If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
