I want an individual inbox for each account. i.e. account " Hotmail" and folder "Inbox" and "Cybernet1" and folder "Inbox" I have to search for each folder to display the messages of that folder now and I would prefer to just check the inbox folder for each account. Jim

In response to zenos. See the image attached. As you can see I have two accounts in the Local Folders. I want to be see the email files in an Inbox under each account shown separately. See my reply to gnospen for more information. Jim

Is this what you're looking for: View / folders / all or view / folders / unified

I think you need to provide a screenshot of what you have. It's hard to understand exactly what your problem is.

I have two email accounts, "rctryer@Hotmail" and "rctryer@cybernet1". I want each account to show on the file tree located on the left, each with it's own Inbox folder, such as:

(acct1) "rctryer" (folder) "Inbox" and
(acct2) "Hotmail" (folder) "Inbox".

I want the email from each account showing in it's respective Inbox folder.

It now shows under Local Folder, and by changing the "view/All to View/ Unified" only changes the order in which the now existing folders are displayed. I still cannot see my accounts by name.

When I go to"Local Folders" and look at the account settings, I see the account "rctryer" and all of its settings and the account Hotmail(1) and all of it's settings, just the way it was imported from live mail. Why wont it show the accounts in the tree? It shows all of the other folders that were imported from my live mail accounts and their contents. Also, when I add "account" to the email list to show which account it is from, it only shows "local folders" not the account that they were received from?

I am newbie to Thunderbird, but I have been using windows computers for 30+ years and consider myself quite knowledgeable with their products, I have been fighting this for three days and I am even more totally confused that when I started.

That's why I asked for a screenshot. I would interpret "Under Local Folders" to mean they are subfolders of Local Folders, but they are not. You have three accounts (namely Local Folders, Hotmail and rctryer) all having parity with each other.

These are POP-connected accounts and for whatever reason you have set them to use the Global Inbox. (I can tell they are POP because they don't have a "Synchronization & Storage" page.)

Go to Tools|Account Settings|rctryer|Server Settings→Advanced and select the account's own Inbox. Repeat for the Hotmail account.

After doing that, if you want them in a different order, look at the Manually Sort Folders add-on.

Thank you, that worked. I now have the two emails listed separately.
