unable to see where the download will go
When I try to download something using my firefox browser, the pop up window does now show me where the content will be downloaded to. I have to download it and then search for it on my computer. Hope someone can help me.

In the 3-bar menu (or 'Tools') => General => under 'Downloads' :
That's where you can set your default download location.
Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

I don't think I explained the situation that well.
When I try to download something from Firefox, I get the following dialogue box that is supposed to show where something is being downloaded to.
However, sometimes, it shows up blank, like the screenshot attached.
Any way to reset/resolve this issue?
Thanks
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
I don't recognize the blank box. Is that supposed to be a Finder window to let you choose a folder, or does some other program handle folder selection when you download from Firefox on your Mac?
As a footnote, to locate a download on disk, you can:
- click the download arrow icon on the toolbar to drop the recent downloads panel
- use the folder icon at the right end of the download to launch a Finder window with the download selected in the folder it's saved in
In case open containing folder in the context menu is grayed then this means that the file is no longer present in the original download location.
