Thunderbird stutters and hangs for 3-10 seconds while in use frequently.
I have been using Thunderbird for years. I am on a Lenovo T430 with plenty of memory. When I try to write emails or open emails, Thunderbird will hang up for 3-10 seconds. If I am typing, the text will show up after the hang occurs. This has be happening more and more frequently. Windows 10. 10 Gb of RAM. I have opened task manager and I do not see more than 50% CPU or 60% Memory used.

What is your anti-virus software?
Windows defender

Still in Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in safe mode. - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode
Does the problem go away?
