Forvo.com sound clips no longer work in Firefox, but DO still work in both Palemoon and Chromium. Safe Mode made no difference. Audio plays fine on other sites.

This: https://forvo.com/word/sc%C3%A1thach/

used to play just fine in Firefox, now clicking the little triangle button for play does nothing. It still works fine in both Palemoon and Chromium, so it is probably not a site problem.

Turning off all privacy tools, restarting in Safe Mode, turning off all in-browser security made no difference. Other sites with sound, eg facebook, youtube, chromanova.de, darkmothermedia.com, still play just fine.

Is there some exotic "about:config" setting I have to futz with? I did compare with Palemoon, but didn't see any obvious differences that seemed relevant.

Hi, it is possibly NoScript.

SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

TEST''''is issue still there ?
