Why does it take several minutes to download 35 kb of info?
Thunderbird tells me there are no new messages, but mail washer shows several messages are waiting to be downloaded. When I check for new messages it says it's connecting but doesn't download for sometimes 8 minutes. This makes Thunderbird useless for business. How do I or you correct this significant problem?

Who is your network provider? And your mail provider?

Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - win7 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17419/windows-7-advanced-startup-options-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird
Does problem go away?
