Tried to access my online bank account from your website but got a message that it's not a secure site. I called my bank who told me that it's because of one of your updates. How can I fix this issue? I can access my account from other sites, just not yours.

I have the address pinned to my toolbar. When I tried to enter the site today, Firefox would NOT let me. I called my bank who told me that it's a problem with an update from Firefox and that if I rebooted it should solve the problem. It did not work. The message error I got was:

Your connection is not secure The owner of online.stmarysbank.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

Websites prove their identity via certificates, which are issued by certificate authorities. Most browsers no longer trust certificates issued by GeoTrust, RapidSSL, Symantec, Thawte, and VeriSign. online.stmarysbank.com uses a certificate from one of these authorities and so the website’s identity cannot be proven.

You may notify the website’s administrator about this problem.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

The bank did NOT change their info. I used a different browser and was able to get into my account. What is going on? Can this be fixed? Thanks for your help.

hi, it's due to https://blog.mozilla.org/security/2018/07/30/update-on-the-distrust-of-symantec-tls-certificates/ - please contact the site and make them aware of the issue as their certificate will start to fail in all major browser soon (you're using a beta version of firefox, that's why you're already seeing this change now).

Microsoft is now able to block access to my bank account and this has to be due to you; I will return to Safari and you enjoy your association with microsoft, google and whomsoever you are beholden to.

mozilla has no association with microsoft and if your bank isn't taking any action soon to get its https certificate issued by a trusted vendor it will be blocked by safari soon as well: https://support.apple.com/HT208860

My explanation might have been poorly written. Microsoft, not Firefox, blocked my entry to my bank account....no idea why but safari was fine.

Access to my account is no longer a problem; no idea why, the trouble occurred ages ago. Hockey is something else. Firefox is a no go for Hockey Night in Canada, but Safari is great.

CREATE MORE PROBLEMS Even Though they are Volunteers

Those people are employees of Mozilla. We of the support forum are volunteers.

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.
