I'm sorry you didn't get a reply sooner. Much of our support here is provided by a community of very knowledgeable and helpful volunteers. It's also the holidays so some may be taking time off for that.

That App Store loop you described sounds very odd & concerning. Have you run an antivirus just to make sure nothing bad is at play?

Installing Firefox from the App Store should only install that app. Do you happen to know what version of iOS you are on?
