Question: How can I get Firefox Sync to stop reverting my home page back to washingtonian.com without notice? (December 28, 2018)
I very much doubt this problem is specific to my device or my Firefox installation. It does this across PC resets! As of December 29, 2018, I want my home pages on all my Windows, macOS and Linux devices to be the following in this particular order:
https://www.architecturaldigest.com/|https://www.designnewjersey.com/|https://www.nytimes.com/|https://www.newyorker.com/|https://www.nydailynews.com/|http://www.westchestermagazine.com/|http://www.hvmag.com/|https://www.nhmagazine.com/|http://www.connecticutmag.com/|https://www.lifeinthefingerlakes.com/|https://www.downtownmagazinenyc.com/|https://www.technologyreview.com/|https://www.nshoremag.com/|https://www.rimonthly.com/|https://www.adirondackexplorer.org/|https://www.pittsburghmagazine.com/Pittsburgh-Magazine/|https://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/|https://www.bostonmagazine.com/|https://www.phillymag.com/

You keep modifying your posts, but have you tried what I suggested earlier :

And what is your answer to the question in my penultimate post ?

Does this still happen if you disable Sync or possibly exclude home page from getting synced?
Prefs that have a corresponding services.sync.prefs.sync pref set to true are part of Sync.
- services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.startup.homepage = false
I don't want to exclude anything from getting synced with Firefox Sync, period. I want to use every last capability Firefox Sync has to offer. As of January 10, 2019, my interest in staying close to my aunts, uncles and cousins in New Jersey and living there came back. The forty-four homepages I'd love Firefox to sync across all my Windows, macOS and Linux devices are as follows, in this particular order:
https://www.nytimes.com/|https://www.bostonglobe.com/|https://www.newyorker.com/|https://www.architecturaldigest.com/|https://njmonthly.com/|https://www.designnewjersey.com/|https://www.courant.com/|https://www.nj.com/|https://www.buckscountycouriertimes.com/|https://www.burlingtoncountytimes.com/|https://www.theatlantic.com/|https://thedigestonline.com/|https://www.downtownmagazinenyc.com/|https://www.technologyreview.com/|https://newengland.com/|https://jerseydigs.com/|https://www.jerseysbest.com/|https://www.nshoremag.com/|https://www.rimonthly.com/|https://www.nbcnewyork.com/|https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/|https://www.nydailynews.com/|https://www.philly.com/|https://sjmagazine.net/|https://www.adirondackexplorer.org/|http://www.connecticutmag.com/|https://www.lifeinthefingerlakes.com/|https://www.nehomemag.com/|https://www.pressofatlanticcity.com/|https://www.providencejournal.com/|https://www.trentonian.com/|https://www.capecodtimes.com/|https://www.concordmonitor.com/|https://www.nhmagazine.com/|http://www.njfamily.com/NJ-Family/|https://www.newyorkupstate.com/|https://www.wsj.com/|http://www.westchestermagazine.com/|http://www.hvmag.com/|http://www.mainlinetoday.com/|http://www.delawaretoday.com/|http://www.delawarebusinesstimes.com/|https://www.bostonmagazine.com/|https://www.phillymag.com/

Would you please go over this article and see if maybe you can find the answer there :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save
And also (just in case) :
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extension-changed-my-home-page
I just noticed that you posted this on December 13, 2018 :
I have a lot of extensions, the vast majority of which are disabled. I think I should hold off on adding extensions to Firefox Sync only to disable them right after I accept the extension's permissions, if there are any.

You apparantly don't want to continue in the above mentioned thread - do you want it locked ?

Everything's fine now. I'll start a new thread if this problem comes back. That'll be all for this thread and the other one.
You can disregard this thread permanently. I've added another two pages I'd love to see every day in Firefox as of today, 1/11/2018, so I'll just copy and paste them here as a backup in case I run into any more problems with Firefox:

So that is why you keep modifying this page ....
Here are two other things you could do :
- In case you have Word : you could copy and paste your list in a special document,
- You could bookmark this page and then open it in a new tab and edit it there whenever you need to
However : you really shouldn't have to do that, if you have set all those pages to be your homepage.
Modifying this thread every day, just to keep your list close at hand : must be a hassle. Would you give (one of) those options I mentioned a try, to see if that will make things easier for you ?
I will now copy and paste your list and send it to you in a private message (in case that helps).

Thanks for your help.
My pleasure !
I had just copied and pasted your list and sent it to you in a PM (= private message), but I noticed that you just added something, so I'll copy and paste this list again and send it to you in another PM.
