Hi This may be a setting in the email service you use or a Thunderbird setting. To figure out which - can you access your email online, and see if the older emails are also missing from the webmail inbox? There may be a time limit set on your email service, that you can change there.

The main setting in Thunderbird - go to Account Settings, or right click on your mail account name in the left Folder pane and select 'Settings' If your email is POP: select 'Disc Space' then 'don't delete any messages' If your email is IMAP: Select 'synchronisation & storage' under 'Disc Space' section select 'don't delete any messages' click on 'OK'

Also on each folder in Thunderbird you can set a specific retention rule - right click the folder, then click Properties - the second tab is Retention. Check that your Inbox is set to use the account settings.

Also related - If your email is POP, Thunderbird has a setting for how long copies of emails you have downloaded are left on the server. This setting should not delete emails from your Thunderbird Inbox, but it does send a message to your online service to delete from your webmail after the specified time.

I hope that helps, Agnes
