Attempting to enable Excel from within Dropbox yields this message: "Office for the web isn't supported on this browser. Try opening this doc on a different browser, such as Google Chrome." I was able to edit Excel files in the Firefox browser previously.

Hello Steve Goldin,

Same problem here :

I started looking at how Dropbox works with Office Online, and ran into a permission screen where I need to allow Office to access Dropbox folders. A screenshot of that is attached. Do you get that, or did you already approve that?

This permission is saved on the Connected Apps list (https://www.dropbox.com/account/connected_apps), which is illustrated in the second screenshot.

After giving permission, nothing seemed to happen so I repeated using the Open menu and then got a new tab where I had to make the document writeable (third screenshot), a prompt about making this the default action (fourth screenshot -- selected not now), and finally I was able to edit (fifth screenshot).

I assume Excel works similarly but I tested with Word first since I already had that file in there. Does Word work on your Dropbox, or same issue?

Hi jscher2000,

Thanks for help. I have already approved the permission screen around 6 months ago - so did my colleagues and to be honest I has worked fine for us until this week. My Microsoft account has also full permissions to Dropbox. It's interesting, that it works on your device. :/
