Hi guys, When a user closes mutiple Chrome browser windows (with mutiple tabs in each window), Chrome will open them all the next time the user opens Chrome browser. Firefox however only opens the last closed browser window, "forgeting" all previous closed windows. Is there a way to make Firefox remember and open multiple windows?

Thank you very much!

For best results, quit Firefox using the menu, so that all the windows are considered "open" at shutdown. Either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Exit
  • (menu bar) File > Exit

Otherwise, you will need to re-open closed windows individually using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Library > History > Recently Closed Windows
  • "Library" toolbar button > History > Recently Closed Windows
  • (menu bar) History > Recently Closed Windows

Those only cover the last 3 closed windows by default. (It can be increased if you're interested.)

These are the related prefs on the about:config page for reopening closed tabs and windows.

  • browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo
  • browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.
