Aol said I had to switch email from jw7687@verizon.net to jw7687@aol.com. I did. Lost verizon.net email address, all old emails and old address book. I've recovered my address book. Is there any way I can retrieve the emails? Can only be reached now at: jw7687@aol.com. Thank you.

ignore the destructive suggestions from the idiots at Yahoo. All that is required for the change is the change the authentication method from whatever it is set to to oAuth. Nothing else.
But do you have a backup to recover from the unmitigated disaster the advice you have received from AOL/Yahoo caused.
