I cannot get a password remembered for a game site I visit regularly. It asks if I want to remember it, but then doesn't do it when I click on remember. The error console has this: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "'Can't add a login without a httpRealm or formSubmitURL.' when calling method: [nsILoginManager::addLogin]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsLoginManagerPrompter.js :: anonymous :: line 845" data: no]

Thanks for the reply, but this doesn't seem to help. This site password was working fine for my computer but my wife had a problem with one of her sites and we cleared the cache. That fixed her problem, but now we have this one. Other passwords were cleared, too, but no problem reentering them. At this site, Firefox just won't accept the password (which contains no special characters).

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Clearing_the_cache and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
You can rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Profile Folder in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

See Fix login issues on websites that require a username and password (Remove corrupt cookies file)
