I have remote access to my work via citrix and after I sign in my browser changes to Internet Explorer. Since I don't use IE and can't upgrade it either I want to know how to set firefox to be compatible with the web portal and remote access via citrix

Check with Citrix support to see if it is possible to use browsers other than Internet Explorer, there may be a Plugin for Firefox. But, that "remote access" might need ActiveX to function. ActiveX is a feature of Internet Explorer and its' clones, other popular browsers like Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari don't do ActiveX.
