Audio on NPR plays will with IE but will not play using Firefox. Third party cookies are enabled. Flash works on other sites like CBS. We use XP with Firefox 36.12.

Make sure that you do not block JavaScript settings and preferences for interactive web pages

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Through process of elimination I find that the problem is in fact NoScript which I have used for years. Another site which will not open with this extension is cartalk.com. Thanks.
