FF4 install didn’t complete cleanly. Now creating new acct, email addr gets "invalid email" &/or "unknown error" even with different email addr. How do I start all over again?

I'm on FF4 Beta 12 and tried setting up Firefox Sync for the first time today. I specified an email address and password, but the install seems to have never completed. I can't get into synch in my primary desktop PC where I started the process, can't access the account in my laptop which I want to synch to the primary PC.

In trying to start all over again, I attempted to delete the registered user ID and password, but I didn't get a clean response from the Firefox Sync website. Now when I try creating a new account, in entering an email address I get "invalid email" and/or "unknown error" on both the desktop and the laptop, even if I use a new email address.

Is there a way to start all over again with Firefox Sync? Some cache perhaps on my desktop that needs clearing out? Thanks.

Just to clarify, my FF4 is fine. It's the Firefox Sync install that did not complete cleanly. I'm only having trouble getting Firefox Sync installed and useable.
