Is it true that you cannot make Firefoxe's Start Page into a Homepage and add content to it aside from the menu bar?

It appears that Firefox is to be used only for a web browser, and that I ought to save another webpage, like Yahoo or MSN, for my Homepage. I have found nowhere in Firefox to add content to the actual page, and it's pretty boring with just the Google search window on it and a blank, white page otherwise! With MSN, there's always content on the page, like local news, shopping, movie times, etc....something to look at and read! But then again, I don't know why on Firefox it is that I can customize the menu bar like there's no tomorrow, if it's not suppose to be used as a Homepage. An answer would be appreciated!

This is not a problem with Firefox, this is what Mozilla have decided to set the home page to by default. To set another page such as MSN as the default home page, copy the page URL, then, under options, on the general tab, change the default home page by replacing it with the copied URL. If you still want Google to appear as part of it, I recommend using iGoogle for the homepage. Alternatively, set your homepage to any website and use the built in search engine next to the address bar.

Thank you prais2326! I got an answer in 17 minutes!

It's just weird to me that you can totally customize the Firefox menu bar, add add-ins, buttons, etc, but not enhance the webpage itself, so it can be used as a Homepage. Why customize all that other stuff if you're going to use a different Homepage and not even use Firefox's interface?

Have a good day, and thanks again for your quick reply. Dana
