How can I make the icons bigger?
I just upgraded to Firefox 6 and it's really bad on my eye sight (which is poor anyway due to illness). I've already downloaded an addon to make the words in the Firefox interface bigger, but how do I make the icons bigger (i.e back, forward, refresh, stop, home).
They're tiny and I can hardly see them, and adding text to them makes my browser look extremely messy.
Is there a way to change the colour of the firefox buttons etc too? Thank you for any help :(

I don't think you can make the icons any bigger.
However you could try using just text:
1. Right click on any of the icons and select 'Customise...' (at the bottom of the menu)
2. On the drop-down menu at the bottom of the window select the 'Text' option
3. Click 'Done'
There is a way you can get different Firefox buttons by installing an add-on called Toolbar Buttons where you can chose different, more colourful versions of the buttons you usually get in Firefox.
Once you have installed Toolbar Buttons then you can change the appearence of the buttons by:
1. Right clicking on any of the icons and select 'Customise...' (at the bottom of the menu)
2. Find the button(s) that you want on your menu and drag them to where you want to.
3. If you want to get rid of any buttons just drag them into the Customise menu
4. Click 'Done'

Just adjust your firefox accessibility settings for greater ease of use. Reference the following

Right.. Thanks for your help, but it seems that I really wish I hadnt upgraded if I cant fix it. This is a terrible change. I can't customise the things I need to, but I can customise pointless things.. Bleh.
See if you have chosen to use small icons on the toolbars:
- Open the Customize window
- click Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout OR
- click View > Toolbars > Customize if using the Menu Bar OR
- ALT+V+T+C OR
- right-click in the empty space at the end of the Tabs Bar and choose Customiz
- At the bottom of the Customize window
- if "Use small icons" is checked, un-check it
- click "Done" at the bottom right of the Customize window

Increase the String pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from 1.0 to 2.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps to adjust the size of all fonts and other elements in Firefox.
In current Firefox versions this pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
- Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
- Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
- Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.
You can also look at one of the large themes.
