My computer crashed and I had to restore it to its purchase condition (2008). I had backed up all my data on Mozy. After restoring 12GB of files, the "favorites" folder is in C:\Documents & Settings\myusername\favorites. The old shortcuts are in the folder, but I can't get them to my Firefox Bookmarks tab. How can I do this?

You can't do it that way. Those are IE favorites and Firefox can't handle those files. You need to export your IE favorites into bookmarks.htm format so you then import that file into Firefox.

In IE:
File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file

then in Firefox:
Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Import HTML... = From HTML file

Thanks, it worked! A few fits and starts, but I got it done. Thanks so much!
