does firefox work on windows ME
i have a old laptop and my operating platform is windows ME i have been able to get into most websites with explorer but i asked if there was some thing that i could download that i could update the browser when i run the set up execute file it comes back with critical error that is why i am wondering if it works on my platform thanks

Firefox 2.0.0.20 to be exact.
If you must use this old version then see ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/win32/ and choose your language.

The last version of Firefox to run on Windows ME was the Firefox 2.0.x series. Since version 3.0.x, Windows ME is not compatible. It is not suggested that you run an old, unsupported, non-updated version of Firefox for your own safety and security.
I doubt that you will find any currently updated, secure browser compatible with Windows ME. There are on-line links for Firefox for Windows ME, many of them foreign sites, but I would not trust them; you do not know what you may be getting.
