My tabs no longer have an x to close them, and opening links stopped opening in new tabs.
My question sums it up. The new tab opening stopped after the last upgrade to 7.01, and the tab closing changed occurred today, and has happened on and off previously. Operating on Windows 7 Home.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
