why am I having trouble loading pages on Mozilla support with FF13.0.1
Since Firefox updated itself to 13.0 and then 13.1 I have many problems. The biggest was trying to log in to support. Never got the confirmation emails after asking for 7+ days.
I have now registered with a new name and that worked. I have trouble going to pages in support, the green circle goes round and round for ages, after a few minutes if I click on the red X at the end of the URL the page then loads. This doesn't always work, but nothing should be this hard on Mozillas own site.

Hi,
Please check if this happens in a new profile. If the new profile is okay, you can then Reset Firefox on the old (previous) profile via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.
No, in fact that has made things worse. I couldn't even get to this page when I made up a new profile.
I went back to my old profile and then had to wait a bit and click on the red X at the end of the URL line to get to this page.
When I first clicked the link when I read the email you sent me I was able to get straight to this page. What on earth is going on?
One information message in the error console says
Could not read chrome manifest 'file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/extensions/%7B972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd%7D/chrome.manifest'.
I also get the red X errors that say this many times each time I start Firefox.

There are so many yellow warnings that it is hard to count them. Over 100 right after I start Firefox. Could these have anything to do with my problems?
Check the connection settings.
- Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection > Settings
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Options+window+-+Advanced+panel
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.
See "Firefox connection settings":
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

After I clicked on the no proxy option Firefox seemed to be working just fine yesterday. I had no trouble going to any Mozilla page. That was yesterday.
This morning it could not load my home page Sympatico.ca so I shut it down. Waited a bit. When I reloaded Firefox the page came up OK. Then I clicked on the Firefox button on the bookmark bar named Getting Started. This did not work, just got the revolving circle. I was able to get to this page by clicking on the link in the email you sent me.
After that I removed Firefox from the Windows Firewall permissions box, and then re-added it. (I had only added it in 2 days ago as it was not there) This has seemed to solve the problem for now. Although when I clicked on the Getting Started link the green circle kept revolving even after I had finished watching the video. But with this intermittent problem, Firefox is getting to be really annoying.
I am wondering if I need to remove Firefox and download a fresh copy? I understand this would not remove my bookmarks and personal settings etc.
My Anti-virus is Avast Free 7.0.1426 - fully updated. Scans show no problem. Anti-spyware is Windows Defender fully updated, scans show no problem.
Just opened another tab and the getting started is once again not connecting. Clicking on the red X at the end of the URL no longer works to bring up the page.
Also just tried to check my plug-ins on the Add-ons Manager page and am not taken to the site to check the plug-ins. This also happened 2 days ago and half an hour later the site came up and checked the plug-ins for me.
