Lost session -- please help!!

I had a session with a lot of important tabs. And somehow a second window opened (I don't even know how to do that). But when I turned my computer on and went to restore, only the second window with just one tab opened. I looked around for the other window and it wasn't there, so I went to history > restore previous session... But it only opened the single tab again!! Is there anything I can do???

Sorry, I think in my state of panic, I didn't explain this very well. After "I had a session with a lot of important tabs. And somehow a second window opened (I don't even know how to do that)." I should have explained that I turned my computer off last night.
