Couldn't load XPCOM
Windows Vista. Support pages recommend uninstalling Firefox.
I tried that via the control panel but it would not budge.
So where is the uninstall\helper.exe? I can not find it.

What version of Firefox are you attempting to uninstall?
I found a video about your xpcom.dll issue. It can be found here.

Does the Firefox program display on your programs list in the Control Panel?
If you can't find the Firefox uninstaller, you can try the steps below:
- Locate the Firefox program directory
- Delete it
- Locate the Firefox application data
- Delete it
- Use a registry cleaner (eg. CCleaner) to scan and repair all registry issues
Please report back soon.

In case of problems with some files in the Firefox program folder it is always best to do a clean reinstall and make sure to delete the Firefox program folder to remove any files that were left after uninstalling Firefox. Uninstalling Firefox can take care of cleaning up the registry as well.
You may need to reboot the computer to check/verify if there isn't security software protecting files.
Thanks a lot for your time computerwhiz. Trying to uninstall version 23. I located Firefox program directory and deleted it (I think) but I can't find "Firefox application data" to delete. Still stuck!
Yes it does and it refuses to uninstall. Also I had already used CC Cleaner just prior to trying the uninstall.
You should be able to do the following to locate the application data:
- Select the Run option in the Start Menu
- Type in
%appdata%
- Click run
- Locate and open the
Mozilla
folder - Delete the folder entitled
Firefox
Please report back soon.
