I imported all my bookmarks from Internet Explorer 8 but not all of them came through. Then I exported the HTML file from IE and imported it into Firefox and all of them came through but got added onto the initial (partial) list. How do I remove the partial list of bookmarks so that I can avoid duplication ? Or how do I delete all the bookmarks from Firefox in one go so that I can import again from the IE HTML file  ?Thanks.

To delete a lot of bookmarks at once, use the Library dialog. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+b
  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

In the left panel, click Bookmarks Menu. In the right panel, click the top item you want to remove, then press Shift+End to select all the way to the bottom, then right-click > Delete.

(I didn't actually test that last step, for obvious reasons!)
