I used the classic add-on to change tabs to bottom. Now the tabs are all but covered by the open page. How do I fix this?

I'm not seeing any issues. Can you post a screenshot of the problem?

Also note that the add-on's author provides support on the third-party site MozillaZine. He might know what you're referring to.
