About 2 to 4 times daily my Thunderbird email gives me this error message:

"Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded the maximum number of connections to this server. If so, use the Advanced IMAP Server Settings dialog to reduce the number of cached connections."

When this happens I cannot send, receive, or open my other folders. I am ready to delete Thunderbird, everyone says it is awesome and I'm sure I have something set up wrong, but this is very inconvenient.

Please help.

Why don't you simply follow the instructions and try to reduce the number of cached connections?
