I have a continuing problem with Thunderbird--when I delete an email often more than one is deleted. It is not in trash and a search does not find it either.
I have two ongoing problems with Mozilla Thunderbird. 1. Frequently when I delete one email one adjacent to it will also be deleted. When this happens the email is gone--it is not in trash and a search will not show it. I do not use any combination of keys--just the "delete" key. 2. Some days when I bring up my emails there will be TWO of every email--very annoying. Can someone please help me resolve these two problems as I'm about to dump Mozilla.

Get a backup of your Profile folder as it sounds like you may have corrupted files.
If you are talking about the eg: Inbox:
- Move all good emails into other suitable folders.
the inbox should be used as an Inbox and not as a general store. When you have got all good emails into other folders.
- Delete all unwanted remaining emails.
- Right click on Folder and select 'Compact'.
info on what compacting does and why it is important.
Do the above and see if this resolves the issue. Report back on results.
