Getting the "This Connection is Untrusted" message again after having selected the, "I Understand The Risks" option, which doesn't reappear as an option
1. Installed Firefox 3.0 2. Navigated to Facebook 3. "Connection is Untrusted" message appeared 4. Clicked on the, I Understand the Risks , Add Exception, Get Certificate, Confirm Security Exception options 5. Closed Firefox 6. Opened Firebox 7. Attempted to navigate to Facebook 8. The Connection is Untrusted message appeared again, but without the I Understand the Risks option. 9. Went to Options>Security and added Facebook 10. Went to Advanced>Certificates which offered nothing 11. Went to Options>Connections (settings) and selected No Prox...No effect...still can't go to Facebook
Detailed step-by-steps instructions on how to solve this annoying issue would be greatly appreciated.
Note: I don't have this problem with Google or LinkedIn, just Facebook.

Is the page a third party application, like a game? When you get to a part of Facebook that is embedded in a frame, you cannot see the true URL of the framed page. In that case, Firefox doesn't let you add an Exception. Right-click that area of the page and check the menu for "This Frame" then expand that and Open Frame in New Tab. Here you can see the true URL and Firefox should let you add an Exception.
But let's pause for a moment: Facebook has its security act together, and you definitely should NOT need to add an exception. This could be a sign that your connections are being intercepted, making them totally insecure.
More likely it's a sign that Firefox is not fully set up to work with your Kaspersky product's SSL filtering feature. If you have problems finding the instructions for that, let us know which Kaspersky product you use.

"This Frame" is not appearing as an option when I right-click.
In the Technical Details section, there should be a specific code in parentheses. For example:
- sec_error_untrusted_issuer
- ssl_error_illegal_parameter_alert

As an aside, here's a screen shot of the options I get when I right-click in the frame. Do you know why I am not getting the, "This Frame", as an option?
You only get This Frame if you are clicking on an embedded page. So this isn't one of those "embedded game" issues that we often see.
For PURE 3.0, could you try temporarily disabling SSL filtering? See: http://support.kaspersky.com/us/9927#block1 (uncheck the Scan encrypted connections box). Any difference?

If you use KASPERSKY, this is the solution they emailed to me when I encountered this problem. It worked wonderfully.
Here are the steps on what you need to do:
To Show hidden files, folders and drives:
Go to the Start Menu Open up My Documents folder On your keyboard, press and hold 'Alt' key then press 'T' to open the Tools Menu. On the list, please click on 'Folder Options' Go to 'View' tab. Under Advanced Settings, please select or choose 'Show hidden files, folders and drives'. Click on 'Apply' then 'Ok'. Then close the My Documents window.
Deleting and Importing Certificate:
Open up Firefox, click the 'Open Menu' icon or the three horizontal lines. Go to Options Go to the Advanced tab in the top right Click on 'Certificates' tab Click on 'View Certificates' button Under Authorities you will find one or more "KasperskyAnti-VirusPersonalRootCertificate" Select the certificate then delete the file(s).
Select the Import button. Browse to C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP15.0.1\Data\Cert\ select the (fake)Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Root Certificate, and press open. When importing the certificate, there are three options, select the option for "Trust this CA to identify websites" then press OK on all the windows to save the settings.
Please close the Firefox window and reopen the program then try to access sites again. If the steps stated above solved the issue, follow the steps on how to 'Show hidden files, folders and drives' and please select/choose ' Do not Show hidden files, folders and drives' to restore the default setting.
I just updated to firefox 33.1 and this problem still exists.
This did not happen with firefox versions 28 to 32. I have been using Kaspersky Internet Security and I just upgraded that to version 15.0.1.415a before upgrading firefox. Now, I tried both solutions, I disabled the secure scan and I deleted the certificate. Result- is the same. I am still getting Untrusted Connections when trying to go to Yahoo and Amazon.
I have no choice now. I tried the solutions given to me, they have not worked. I waited for a new version of FireFox and that still didn't fix the problem. I must switch browsers to Chrome because when I tried IE, these sites work fine with no problem. But, I refuse to use IE.
