Why is the date on the "SPAM" folder 1 month ahead of the present date ?
I have notice that the date stated on the SPAM mail is 1 month ahead of the current day ( e.g : Inbox show date is 29 June, but SPAM folder date is 29 July. Please advice. Is there a bug in the program ?

I may be wrong, but I think that the future date, showing in the SPAM folder, is the date that it will be deleted by Thunderbird, if you don't intervene. Apparently, this date can be adjusted, if you wish, for all SPAM messages.
Are you talking about messages in the spam folder?
Yes. I am talking about the SPAM folder
If so , how do I go about changing it. Thanks
Thunderbird does not create or use a Spam folder. Check with your provider and see why this is happening. Any spam folder is created by them or your antivirus software.
Actually, you can create a SPAM folder in Thunderbird. I did it this morning while researching my answer.
See this site:
Yes YOU can create folders and name them anything that you want. I stated that THUNDERBIRD does not create a Spam folder.
And then you link to Thunderbird Junk controls? This is why Thunderbird uses the work Junk. To avoid confusion of who is doing what.
My error. Somehow I got off track., but I do have a SPAM folder
MarcTan: I am curious about your SPAM folder. Did you create it? I have one and I did not create it. I have Thunderbird V31 Beta 1.
Goldensword: I did not create any SPAM folder, it was there. I'm not sure about gmail cause I sync Thunderbird with gmail. FYI I am using Thunderbird ver 24.6.0 Release
This is correct. Gmail creates a Spam folder and if you subscribe to it you will be able to view it with Thunderbird when using IMAP protocol email. I am sure this is what goldensword is seeing also.
The first comment about Thunderbird projecting a delete date is not at all accurate.
I suggest that you log into your account directly at gmail and hunt around their spam options or see if there is a date or time zone setting that might be incorrect.
