In Thunderbird can a warning be provided when trying to close the program and at least one email is still open in a tab?

I am running the latest version of Thunderbird (24.6.0) on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (32 bit).

Often I accidentally shut down Thunderbird, when all I meant to do was to close a mail that was open in a tab. I cannot see any options to provide a warning like you get in Firefox when trying to close the browser when multiple tabs are open.

Unless there is an option that I have missed, is it possible to provide such an option?

I just modified a version of this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/fast-close-tabs/?src=search to install on version 30 and it appears to work. The inconvenience is you need to Shift click the close button to really close.

If you want to try it to solve your issue I would be happy to email it to you.
