I am on a Mac and can not find where the file is saved. No idea if Firefox has updated or if it's something else. Everything was normal this morning, I shut my Mac down earlier and have just turned it back on to find everything gone.

Very weird, never had this happen before.

It is possible that a new profile folder got created for some reason (e.g. a problem with the profiles.ini file).

You can check if there are multiple profiles.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Go one level up to the Firefox/Profiles/ folder to check if you have other profiles. /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/

You can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile and click "Choose Folder" to select a lost profile. Firefox will recognize that profile and use it.
