Try to download FF but get msg. This app cannot run on your PC. To find apps for this device, go to the windows store. When I go to the store it wants me to pay $3.99 I want to use FF, so I can install greasemonkey for my FB game. Thank you.

Chosen solution

Microsoft doesn't allow Firefox on the surface RT, so unfortunately you can't install Firefox there.

What version of the Surface do you have? Is it the Surface Pro or the Surface RT?

Where would I find that info? I think it is a pro?

I was going to say the same thing. Surface Pro should have been the way to go. Firefox browser won't be able to load on the RT on Desktop because RT is only an app tablet. Firefox browser that is 3.99 in the store is the app version of the browser. You may need to stick with IE to see if that works. It may not. You would most likely run into this same issue with any tablet (iPad, Android, or Windows Surface RT) running an ARM processor and not an Intel processor.

I don't know what the version of "Firefox" in the app store is, but it's not from Mozilla and should not be purchased.

Thank you for your answers. I should go back to staples where i bought this useless toy. It is a good media player and good for candy crush, but not really what I wanted. Thank you for your help. I think when I buy my next computer, I will ask different questions.

So don't buy an arm processor but an Intel processor in order to install Firefox? Anything else I should watch out for?

cmosqueda, none of these so called Firefox at links below is from mozilla.org

Basically breaking multiple trademarks, especially the charging for.

mobile Firefox is only for Android 2.2 using ARMv7/v6 and more recently for Intel starting at version 26.0. For desktop Firefox https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/30.0/system-requirements/

@jillgalloway,

At Staples, or where ever you will be purchasing a new tablet or computer, if you want to stick with the Surface, get the Surface PRO not the Surface RT. The cost is a bit more but the Surface PRO is a full fledged laptop computer in a tablet form.

If you go the route of a laptop, just ensure it has at least Windows 7 on it. If you do a laptop with Windows 8 on it, make sure it has a touch screen for it's screen.

That should be it. The Intel chip is the main thing you want to look for. And ensure that the computer or Surface Pro is 64 bit processor as well.

Other than that. Firefox and all your other PC programs will work on it, as well as if you get a Windows 8 laptop or Surface PRO you get the added benefit of using the apps like Candy Crush or all those others on one machine.
