How do I turn history OFF in firefox?
When I sign in to, for example, my yahoo mail account, the moment I start typing my user name in to that field, a list of users appears, such that, if my email is "Jimmy.Smith@yahoo.com", all users whose name starts with "J" will appear. As I type further, say "Ji", all users whose names start with "Ji" will appear. I would like to turn this feature OFF. How do I do this?
Thank you.

It is not Alt and F10, but it is F10 alone on hold down the Alt key to bring up the Menu Bar.
Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:
- click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
- highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key - press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

Go to the log-in page. Type a letter. when anything shows up, mouse to the entry. When highlighted, press delete. Repeat as needed.
or
Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;
Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences
Then Privacy.
The button next to History, select Use Custom Settings.
At the bottom of the page, turn on Clear History When Firefox Closes. At the far right, press the Settings button. Turn on Cache and Form And Search History.
Alt F10 did not bring up a tool bar. When on log-in page, mousing to the entry does not give an option to delete. Backspacing does not permanently delete. Right click deletes from the field, but it keeps coming up again when I type in the first letter. How do I get this tool bar to appear (other than Alt-F10)?
