For about a week now I have been locked out of one email account and my host company cannot fix it. They increased the connections to 5 but I still have the problem. I access the account from three different computers. Even when I made a new account, the next day that one was messed up as well.

Tools menu (alt+T) > account settings > server settings and click the advanced button and modify the max connections.

However you may find you have an apple device which will consume ALL available connections attached to your network through WIFI and therefore your desktop device stands no chance

That Advanced option is not available in the POP3 version. There is no way to reset the connections.

Now though, that problems has resolved itself. My problem now is the script error.

there is only ever one connection to a pop sever, hence no connection option.

For a year or so McAfee has been causing issue. This appears to be dying down and avast is kicking up. Trouble with all anti virus programs is a single definition update away. So to the end of implicating other software or not try rebooting into windows safe mode windows safe mode with networking and see if Thunderbird works correctly.
