I have always preferred Firefox on my android tablet for a long time (Samsung Galaxy Note Pro). However, this problem has been there for a long time with no resolution.

Always, while browsing Amazon.com, particularly when clicking on details for a particular item, the browser hangs to the point where the tablet must be hard-booted.

I have followed suggestions such as clearing all private data, but the problem persists. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, but the problem persists.

Help is most appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello there,

The crash you just described it’s a known bug within “Firefox for Android” and possibly it affects a whole range of websites out there, as it appears here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/950564

1. Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache from your browser. Here is how: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clearing-cookies-private-data-history-and-settings

2. Have you tried using another Android browser such as Chrome or Opera?

3. If you have Adblock Plus, try disabling it and trying Amazon.com again on Firefox (Adblock Plus is known to cause scripting errors on Firefox).

4. Also, you could try to update or reset the device and see if that resolves the issue.

Hope this helps!

<The crash you just described it’s a known bug within “Firefox for Android”...> Any idea if this is being worked on?

<... first step is to clear both cookies and the cache ...> Done. Problem persists. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled Firefox, and the problem persists.

<Have you tried using another Android browser...> Yes-no problem. However, they do not have the same UI or some features. I would prefer to stay with Firefox.

<If you have Adblock Plus...> Adblock is NOT installed on my system.

<...update or reset the device ...> The device was recently updated and reset - problem persists.

If there is a known bug, would it make sense the bug will be fixed for such a major website as Amazon.com?

Thank you.

Hi,

Yes I agree with you; however this bug is related to the browser itself and not to a particular website such as amazon.com

After doing some research, it appears that Mozilla has fixed the crash bug on their latest build (Firefox version 32) which was released on the 2nd of September 2014: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/mozilla-firefox-32-stable-release-now-available-free-download-whats-new-1463734

1. If you’re currently on version 32 and the problem still exists, then I recommend downloading “Firefox Beta 33” and see if that’s an improvement.

2. Also, have you tried using the official Amazon App on your device?

Hope this helps!

Hi oA7Cxr2vd6, It also looks like you have the desktop site on by default. If you temporarily disable this add on or view amazon.com in the mobile site, does this issue persist? How was the performance after the updates?
