A personal folder which my wife created and has used for several years, just disappeared. Is it retreivable from somewhere? What might have happened to it?

The folder was called "pretrash" which my wife uses to store emails like from stuff ordered on-line. The folder holds just regular emails - sbcglobal/yahoo.

Is this a question about Thunderbird or an internet based e-mail service?

To be honest, I don't think this question pertains to Mozilla Firefox. Is the folder still missing when accessing email from another browser such as Internet Explorer? If it's still missing, it may have been accidentally deleted, and you might still be able to find the messages in the trash folder.

If it was accidentally deleted, I have no answers as to how. The Internet does strange things sometimes, and the e-mail is always the first place where something goes wrong.

Firefox is the search engine, and the email is through at&t/yahoo.

Firefox is a web browser, not a search engine. Web browsers are programs used to access and view web content (Like videos, websites, etc.) Search Engines are specific websites (Like google, bing, duckduckgo, etc.) that are used to find other websites. Your e-mail is hosted by At&T / Yahoo!, so they are the ones that can help you find and restore your e-mail folder. Firefox is only the program used to view your e-mail, it has nothing to do with the actual storage of your e-mail.
