Firefox keeps dumping My home page and inserting the Google one

more options

I have put in my website address for home page 3x today alone. every time i bring up the Firefox browser, it wants to BLOCK my site (a nat'l. main stream major city newspaper....

this time, it had taken it upon itself- Firefox without me changing a thing- dumped my home page on start up of Firefox and inserting it's orig. one with Google on it.

also, the addon for restoring my search bar did not work i re installed it 3 times over a 10 hours period. does not work i have no search bar on my add. bar and can't get it back, the search bar is no where.

between Firefox and Chrome, both suck.

How does Firefox block that website?

Do you get some notification bar or icons on the location/address bar?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Do you mean you used the SearchReset extension? That simply resets the default search provider, home page, and new tab page; it does not undo toolbar customizations.

To restore a missing search bar to its normal location, try using this:

"3-bar" menu button > Customize

The click the "Restore defaults" button.

Or, if you do not want to re-do your other customizations, look for the Search bar in the Customize dialog, or somewhere else it shouldn't be, and drag it back to the desired location.

Please note that if you moved "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" to the main Navigation Toolbar to the left of the search box, that almost certainly will push it off the toolbar onto the overflow list (>> icon).
