Why can't I rename firefox bookmarks 32.0.3 by right clicking, in a brand new laptop with Win 7?

Just set up a new laptop for a client and when right clicking bookmarks, all choices are in grey and unavailable. This machine is running Windows 7, 64 bit, with Firefox 32.0.3. I have already checked plugins and it reads that Adobe Acrobat is up to date. We've had Firefox on 5 other machines for several years and never had this problem. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
