Why is my unopened email count extremely inaccurate?

more options

Have 3 devices. iPad and laptop work fine with Thunderbird (Earthlink service). Just got Droid mini Android phone, whose email icon shows count of unopened emails (now at 32), though there are none on any of the devices. Verizon has no answers. Don't know if Thunderbird of Earthlink problem. All three devices are set so emails received on any of them stay on the server until they are deleted from the devices. Anybody have any ideas? Thanx!

Thunderbird is email client software. It does not run on an Apple or Android device. If it is working on your laptop you need to look elsewhere for support on your other devices.

Thanx for your help, Airmail. I am not using Thunderbird on anything but my Windows laptop. The Android cellphone uses (I presume) Google mail and the iPad uses something else. I have had no problems getting emails and sending them from any of the devices. The Earthlink server holds all emails until they have been erased from all three devices. The only thing amiss is that the Android phone's unopened email count is inaccurate. Even when I make sure all three devices are cleared of any unread emails, the count on the phone keeps increasing. How do you think the incompatibility you point out might be creating this problem?

This forum is for support of the Thunderbird email client. You seem to indicate that it is working fine. You need to check with someone that supports your phone and the email client that it uses.
