how do you automatically open a new tab rather than overwriting the open one

I have one tab open. Now I open another site and instead of getting a second tab it overrides my first open site. I would like for a new tab to open every time I go to a different site.

Hello,

You can open links in new tabs with the middle button (unless they are javascript). In all cases, you can use an add-on to force all new page loads to open in a new window.
