How can I get Thunderbird to read text aloud? (I'm visually handicapped)
I cannot find the Windows 7 "equivalent" (if it even exists) to make highlighted text be spoken aloud! also, if this system functionality exists, can Thunderbird access it, and if so, HOW?
Please Advise, thanks! :-) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Best regards, David A. Lewis, B.A., B.Comm. ihelp-mac@shaw.ca

Yes, there is a program in Windows 7.
I'm using Windows Vista and tested to see if Narrator works in Thunderbird. Yes it does, so it should work in Windows 7.
There are a load of shortcut keys, see the link for info. However, I used the mouse to select some items and it still told me what the text said.
To open Narrator click the Start button in the search box, type: Narrator In the list of results, click 'Narrator'.
I've located a couple of webpages that offer good help. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/hear-text-read-aloud-narrator#1TC=windows-7
This YouTube video shows how to locate Text to speech on Windows 7. click the Start button in the search box, type: Speech The person says there is a also good program called 'Speakonia'.
Speakonia is a program you would need to download.
