some email with attached files can not be received
email already recieved by my serverhost cannot be downloaded to my computer. It has to do with the attached files. Most of the time large attached files, especially with an Excel file.

If this is IMAP mail account, check the Synchronising and Storage for the mail account. Tools > Account settings > Synchronising and Storage Look at Disc Space. 'don't download messages larger than'
If Pop mail account: Tools > Account settings > Disc Space for the pop mail account
already swiched that off, I changed passwords and even uninstald the email programme and instald it again but stil the same problem. My provider claims that at his side there are no problems.
To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try the following:
- Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
- If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
Thank you Matt. it was useful to find out that also in the safe mode the issue is NOT fixed. So I hope someone knows another solution.
