Adobe flash player is crashing when even visiting YouTube's home page. I am using Linux Mint Debian 64 bit. I have the latest FF and FP versions, here is the crash file: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/8a074d64-2c1a-468d-8760-87eef2150105 I have tried safemode with no success. (flash works flawlessly in Chromium)

Crashes or other problems with certain multimedia content in Firefox (such as Youtube videos and Flash animations or games) can often be resolved by performing the steps in these Knowledge Base articles:

On Windows Vista and above, you can disable Flash protected mode by following the instructions on these pages:

(See this Adobe blog post for technical details about Flash protected mode.)

For recent updates for Adobe Shockwave Flash, please update your version to 14. Please refer to the security updates and Adobe Security Bulletin for more information.

Please tell us if this helped!

I have gone through most of those pages and did everything that applies to me, I have disabled hardware acceleration, disabled web.gl, etc.

My entire system seems to freeze and stutter when just loading the homepage of Youtube, I am not even at the point of trying to play a video as I can't get past the home page.

It is a problem in libvdpau_nvidia.so.319.72 as you can see in the crash report. I don't know if you can disable this NVidia component.

Debapriya Bhattacharya this question was about Flash on Linux and not on Windows. Also Adobe only supports Flash 11.2 on Linux with security updates.

Also Flash 14.0 on Windows is not supported as only 16.0.0.235, 13.0.0.259 ESR and 15.0.0.246 and for Linux Flash 11.2.202.425 are not vulnerable according to Adobe and are not on blocklist.
